BTS Summer Shuffle Day 1 Recap-Will Rat Enterprises Qualify?

For a full breakdown on Day 1 of the qualifiers, check out my attached video! Here, I will discuss three teams to keep an eye on for the rest of the tournament.

1) Rat Enterprises

Torment and Gimmick are former world champions, and Wondamike slotted in well in Day 1 at points, but overall, the performance was sloppy. Very sloppy. They conceded an average of more than three goals a game against Plot Twist who weren't necessarily playing their cleanest either. These guys will play the loser of the Omelette/Stromboli matchup who both had convincing wins in their matches. Rat Enterprises easily handled the KC Pioneers, so I am not overly worried. I am only slightly concerned that the newness of the roster might lead to more defensive miscommunication.

2) Charlotte Phoenix

I think everyone is rooting for these players. Everyone loves Karma and Dappur, and Shadow has had a great period with the team so far. Dappur, of course, is essentially using this tournament as a tryout so first signs are great for the team and Dappur individually. They swept the KC Pioneers, but that was their only series. Keep an eye on the Phoenix as we get more than three games to scout out what this team looks like. First impressions give us the sign that these players can compete well together and bodes well for their tournament chances.

3) Plot Twist

Plot Twist is the only team with two wins in the tournament so far, making it past Valence and a sloppy Rat Enterprises. The only thing that has me concerned is their own sloppiness. The series against Rat Enterprises could have easily been swayed either way if one of the teams was a bit cleaner on defense. Specifically, I noticed the commentator's mentioning sosa's name more than once on defensive mistouches. Sosa was convincing on offense, however, and this redemption helped lead his team to Day 2 of qualifiers. Taroco, Mectos, and sosa combine for what I think is one of the highest ceiling teams in the qualifiers. These guys could do some serious damage, especially since they are still in the upper bracket, and even leading into RLCS X. Thanks for reading!
