The Shock have one of the craziest lineups I've ever seen. Seriously. Take a look at their lineup versus the Paris Eternal. That screams contender to me. They swept the Eternal and all was well in the world. The Eternal look like a team on the rise. Personally, I think Spark1e looked best with Soon at his side, but I know a lot of fans are partial to Xzi.
The next game came, and we expected the Shock to win, sure. But what was that lineup? They didn't have Ans, choiyobin, OR Twilight in their! And they still swept the Justice! The Justice aren't as good a team as the Eternal, but the dominance of their roster is evident in weekends like this. They've shown they can win tournaments with this roster, and it only looks to be on the rise from here. Keep in mind, this is with Sinatraa retired as well.
This kind of versatility is so hard to come by. Look at the Dragons, arguably the best team along side the Shock, and you see a little bit of DPS depth, but the tank line and support have nowhere near the same depth that San Francisco boasts week in and week out. Even in traditional sports, depth like that is the envy of every team on the fringe of contention. These players would be stars on other teams. For example, lets take soccer. From competing in the league, to cups, and then to continental competition like the Champion's League, it takes a lot of players to fill in for rest days, injuries, and tactical variety. The fact that the Shock can fill in for any meta, or if a player is in a slump, leads me to believe they will repeat as champions this year. I can't wait to see if they can run it through in the Summer Showdown.
From Ans, to Striker, to Moth, this roster is one of the most entertaining to watch. Their DPS, tank line, and supports can all carry the game from their given roles.
