G2 Perkz Takes a Break This Weekend

It was through Twitter that Perkz announced he would be taking this weekend off from the G2's matches, saying "a hard time dealing with stress" led him to the decision. G2 will be playing against Misfits and Excel without their bot laner if he returns next weekend. In the meantime, P1noy will be filling his place.

This could mean big things for the race in the LEC as G2 sit at T-3rd in the standings at 4-3 with a few wins or losses sending them in either direction of the table. They have struggled to find their Spring Split form, so G2 will be thankful that Perkz break took place during a week against some of the easier opponents in the league. Misfits, also 4-3, have yet to convince that they are an elite team and will be G2's biggest test this weekend.

Excel gaming should be easier for G2 as they work with a slightly different roster. Excel's 2-5 record would make G2 the easy favorite, and fans should balance their concern over Perkz's absence. G2 have dealt with swapping lanes recently and have shown the capability to work well despite these swaps. With P1noy filling in around such a star studded roster, I imagine we will see two strong performances for G2, especially coming off of such a big rivalry win against FNATIC.

My personal favorite part of times like this is that P1noy really has a chance to impress here and vie for a full-time spot on a team. The match against Misfits should be interesting with both teams tied at 4-3, and will be a fair assessment of his talent against decent competition. As for Excel, even if they haven't played well this split, it is still a step up coming into the LEC and will give teams the opportunity to see what kind of level he is at.
